29O: THE SCARS OF THE FLOODS IN VALENCIA
Tuesday, October 29, 2024, has been forever marked in the history of Valencian people. The severity of the DANA (high-altitude isolated depression) that struck the region caused an unprecedented catastrophe, both in terms of the number of people dead (228) and also on the scale of the devastation left by the floods.
This reportage shows a selection of photographs taken during the first week after the flood-hit in the ground zero of the tragedy: València, l’Alcúdia, Benetússer, Massanassa, Alfafar, Xiva, and Utiel, to document the destruction and the aftermath of the DANA but also the immense solidarity of thousands of volunteers who came to help in the most affected areas.
